The Trajectory of Justice: The People’s Advocate

In twenty lectures at UC Santa Cruz, Danny Sheehan tells the stories of the major cases of his career, from Harvard Law School through the Pentagon Papers, Karen Silkwood, Greensboro and the Iran-Contra affair.

In the spring of 2012 Danny taught a course at UC Santa Cruz walking students through the cases he has litigated and the ethical questions behind them. Sara Nelson, his longtime colleague and co-founder of the Christic Institute, gives a guest lecture on the organizing behind the Silkwood case, and the final class turns to worldviews, the new paradigm and UFOs.

Each case has its own page with background and outcomes: the Pentagon Papers, the 1970s civil liberties cases, Karen Silkwood, Three Mile Island, Greensboro, the Sanctuary Movement and Avirgan v. Hull.
